Business challenge

The Aura startup founders discovered a market gap for a dedicated and tailored platform for communicating and sharing experiences in the healthcare industry.

During Linkup’s additional research, we pointed out that existing solutions either look and work terribly, are outdated, or are low-functional and closed to the public. There was a need to create a community open to all industry professionals to enable knowledge sharing, strengthen communication, and develop expert relations in the industry.

The solution

After a challenging but extremely fruitful collaboration, Linkup delivered the Aura social network design to clients, meeting their expectations and future customers’ needs. Contemporarily styled and standing out among dozens of other networks and field platforms, this application provides users with a wide range of options: add personal professional info, create posts, and share medical cases, make friends with colleagues and have conversations. It’s also possible to search and create subject articles, ask questions, find professionals, communities, and upcoming events, get customized notifications, and more.

Process

To create the solution required by the client, Linkup followed our proven processes. The most tricky part was making the wireframes and user interface design. We completed about five iterations before finally agreeing on a common vision and understanding of how the Aura social network should look and work.

Wireframing

To go from idea to design faster we have prepared a comprehensive set of ready-to-use components, templates, and more.

Key features

Users can upload their videos or add ones from external resources. They can specify clinical interests to help relevant and interested audiences find them easier. Additionally, users are able to browse and find other Aura videos, comment on them, share, save, and see the view count.

Events play a significant role in creating a cohesive community and fostering professional relations. In Aura, users can use easy-to-build stepper for their events. There’re options to make it private or open, add clinical interest, and write its goal with a description.

An exceptional feature is a professional Q&A platform where all users can create questions and participate in the discussion - anonymously or openly. Users can add some talks to their favorites, save them and even choose who can leave comments to avoid useless and irrelevant advice.

We have created an opportunity for users to create their home pages, view channel dashboards, subscribe to other channels, watch thematic videos, and create playlists. Along with it, develop communities, manage them, and send invitations to others.

We have developed a social network profile tailored to medical specialization. Users can specify their clinical interests, add certifications and achievements in the field, and state their education, work experience, as well as other personal details. In the profiles, users can manage their subscriptions, events, etc.

Outcome

In five months of intense collaboration, the Linkup team created a comprehensive and exclusive mobile & desktop UX/UI design from scratch for the Aura social network. The startup's goal is to help all healthcare workers establish robust networks, share professional experience, consult and ask questions on industry-related topics. Physicians, pharmacists, interns, and others can also enjoy all the benefits offered on other social networks such as LinkedIn and Facebook. The startup is currently presenting the product design to investors for fundraising and further development.
