The apps founders, members of the Society for Investigative Dermatology in the US, were profoundly moved by alarming data from the World Health Organization (WHO), stating that skin cancer claims more than two lives worldwide every hour. Furthermore, according to the American Cancer Society (ACS), 1 in 50 individuals will develop skin cancer during their lifetime. In the age group of 15-29, melanoma is the second most common cancer among both genders. Yet, they found hope. The Skin Cancer Foundation (SCF) estimates a 99% survival rate for skin cancer if detected early within five years.
Informed by these facts, the founders had the ambition to introduce a groundbreaking too within the healthcare industry that could help people manage skin disorders, alleviate their uncertainties regarding potential issues, and encourage users to contact healthcare providers faster and prevent severe health complications.
